Each capsule contains <strong>2.5 mg of glyceryl trinitrate (nitroglycerin)<\/strong> in a controlled-release matrix that slowly releases the active drug over 6&ndash;8 hours. This extended release profile allows twice- or thrice-daily dosing rather than the very short action of sublingual nitroglycerin.<\/p>\n<p>Angiplat is widely prescribed in cardiology practice as part of a long-term anti-anginal regimen &mdash; usually alongside a beta-blocker (atenolol, metoprolol, bisoprolol) or a calcium channel blocker (amlodipine, diltiazem), plus aspirin and a statin for secondary prevention of coronary events.
