Acular LS Drop is a medicated ophthalmic solution containing the active ingredient Ketorolac. Uses

Acular LS Drop is indicated for the treatment of ocular inflammation and discomfort following cataract surgery or refractive surgery. It is also used to relieve itching and redness associated with allergic conjunctivitis. Acular LS Drop works by inhibiting the production of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins, thereby reducing pain and inflammation in the eyes.

How to Use

Before using Acular LS Drop, wash your hands thoroughly. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and instill the prescribed number of drops into the pocket. Blink a few times to spread the medication evenly. Repeat the process for the other eye if directed to do so. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to prevent contamination.

How it Works

The active ingredient in Acular LS Drop, Ketorolac, belongs to a class of medications known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase enzymes, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins. By reducing prostaglandin levels in the eyes, Ketorolac helps alleviate pain, inflammation, and discomfort associated with ocular conditions.

Dosage and Administration

For post-operative ocular pain or inflammation, instill one drop of Acular LS Drop into the affected eye(s) four times daily for up to two weeks following surgery, or as directed by your healthcare provider. For allergic conjunctivitis, instill one drop into the affected eye(s) twice daily, or as directed. Do not exceed the recommended dosage or duration of treatment.
