What is Prazihet used for?

Should I take Prazihet with food?

Yes — take with food and a glass of water. Food increases absorption substantially. Swallow tablets whole rather than chewing (taste is unpleasant).

What about neurocysticercosis?

Neurocysticercosis (CNS Taenia solium cysts) needs SPECIALIST management — concurrent corticosteroids for cerebral oedema, baseline brain imaging, and seizure prophylaxis. Self-treatment of suspected neurocysticercosis can precipitate raised intracranial pressure. Seek neurology/infectious-disease review.

Is Prazihet safe in pregnancy?

WHO classifies praziquantel as acceptable from the second trimester onward for endemic-area schistosomiasis. First-trimester data are limited — generally avoided. Discuss with your clinician.
