Ketoconazole inhibits fungal CYP51, blocking ergosterol biosynthesis. Topical absorption from intact skin is < 1% — far too low to cause the hepatotoxicity or hormonal effects that limit oral use. Can I use ketoconazole cream and a steroid cream together?
