Rotahaler Inhalation Device is a dry-powder inhalation device. It pierces and aerosolises dry-powder medication capsules so the powder can be inhaled. The device is reusable for many uses; the capsules (rotacaps) are single-use.
How to Use Rotahaler Inhalation Device
- Open the dust cap of the device.
- Place one rotacap into the chamber (coloured end down).
- Twist the base of the device sharply — listen for the click that pierces the capsule.
- Breathe out fully away from the device.
- Place mouthpiece between teeth, seal lips around it.
- Inhale forcefully and deeply — you should hear the rotacap whir.
- Hold breath 10 seconds, then breathe out slowly.
- Open the device, check the capsule is empty; discard.
