Daktarin Gel (miconazole nitrate 2% w/w gel, Janssen) is a broad-spectrum imidazole antifungal. Confirm the formulation on your pack — oral and topical gels look similar but have different uses:

Will I taste it?

Oral miconazole gel has a slightly bitter or ‘medicinal’ taste. Hold the gel in the mouth as long as you can before swallowing — contact time matters more than dose. The taste fades within 1–2 minutes.

Can I use the topical gel in the mouth?

No — the dermatological topical gel is formulated for skin and contains preservatives that may irritate oral mucosa. Use only the oral gel in the mouth. Check the carton.

Can I share my tube of gel with my partner?
