What Is Cetcip-L?
Cetcip-L contains levocetirizine — the active R-enantiomer of cetirizine. It is more selective for H1 receptors than cetirizine, with comparable efficacy at half the milligram dose and slightly less sedation. Internationally sold as Xyzal.
How Does Levocetirizine Work?
Levocetirizine selectively binds peripheral H1 histamine receptors with high affinity. Blocking histamine relieves itch, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, hives, and the early-phase allergic response. Unlike first-generation antihistamines, it has minimal CNS penetration, giving negligible sedation at therapeutic doses.
