Roxid Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various types of bacterial infections. It is effective in resolving most infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, lungs, and skin. It stops the growth of infection-causing bacteria and thus resolves the symptoms.
Roxid Tablet should be taken by mouth on an empty stomach. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.
Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen, and diarrhea. These are usually temporary and subside with the completion of treatment. Consult your doctor if these side effects do not resolve or persist for a longer duration.

Roxid (roxithromycin) is a macrolide antibiotic used for community-acquired pneumonia, atypical respiratory infections (Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Legionella), pertussis (whooping cough), Streptococcal pharyngitis in penicillin-allergic patients, skin and soft tissue infections, acne, and selected genitourinary infections including non-gonococcal urethritis. How long do I need to take Roxid?
Typical courses run 5–14 days depending on the infection. Take it consistently spaced (every 8 or 12 hours depending on the regimen). Macrolides have a long post-antibiotic effect — even after the last dose, tissue levels remain therapeutic for several days.

Can I take Roxid during pregnancy?
roxithromycin is generally considered acceptable during pregnancy when clinically needed — safety data are extensive. Erythromycin estolate (a specific salt) is avoided in pregnancy due to maternal hepatotoxicity, but other formulations are acceptable. Always confirm with the prescriber.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Roxid?
